JAKARTA –Director of Yearly Plants, Ministry of Agriculture. Herdrajat said,the production of crude palm oil by the end of 2014 is predicted to decrease about 15%. It would happen for the drought or El Nino.
“According to the data, it would decrease 10-15%,” he said to InfoSAWITin Jakarta, Thursday, (17/7/2014).
But, he continued, if it is normal, the decreasing production will not happen. But it even increases for palm oil needs wet season and water. But if El Nino comes, there will be drought.
“If El Nino comes, it will decrease the production of palm oil, and the recovery process will take 2 and 3 years,” he said. (T3)
