PEKANBARU – Unqualified seeds become one problem of palm oil productivities, especially belonging to the independent farmers because of limited funds. That is why, Riau Plantation Agency suggested, the independent farmers should make their own qualified seeds.
He thought, making seeds is not as difficult as what the farmers think. In addition, Riau Plantation Agency has had its own Technical Service Unit of Seed Agency where the place to consultate how to make own seeds.
“Making qualified seeds can be new business to run to increase their income when the planting process runs,” he said as quoted from Go Riau, Sunday (13/7/2014).
Zulher mentioned, the price of qualified seeds are not so different from the unqualified seeds, that is, between Rp 7.000 – 10.000/seeds with the polybag, soil and others, and will be Rp15.000. (T3)
