Langkat – Knowing palm oil in good price, this urges people in Desa Pasar Rawa Subdistrict Gebang, District Langkatutilize the abandoned area and the field to cultivate palm oil trees.
According to the head of village, Dusun Paluh Baru, Desa Pasar Rawa, Subdistrict Gebang, Langkat, Paidi, the people planted palm oil rather than abandoning the area.
“Rather than being empty, hitting by the weather, the sides of the embankment or the water constraint is better to plant palm oil. It has been 7 years now and the production is good enough. It depends of the fertilization. The harvest could be 20 – 25 kg in average,” head of village, Dusun Paluh Baru, Desa Pasar Rawa, Subdistrict Gebang, Langkat, Paidi said, Tuesday (10/6).
Paidi who loves planting thought, before planting palm oil, the embankment near the river was useless for it was full of wild plants.
“As the economic demands that all needs money, the embankment was planted by palm oil to make money,” he said as quoted from Medan Bisnis. (T2)
