London – In a meeting held by 100 members of RSPO members in Europe, with the theme "100% Certified Sustainable Palm Oil: Our Shared Responsibility", Vice Secretary of Trade, Bayu Krisnamurthi, emphasized the presence of crude palm oil (CPO) for Indonesia. He thought, palm oil is as same as the Airbus in French, automotive in German or monetary in England.

Bayu said, besides being important to the national economy, palm oil is one aspect to conquer poverty, but develop the villager. “It also becomes the source of living for the farmers,” Bayu said in his press conference, Saturday, 7 Juni 2014.

It was said in the annual meeting of European Roundtable Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) some days ago. RSPO is one of many kinds of palm oil certifications which is mostly accepted in the export markets. But there 16% palm oil production in the world have RSPO certifications. “Of 9,7  millions of ton, Indonesia produces 48% or 4,6 millions of tons of certified sustainable palm oil/CSPO,” he said.(T2)
