PEKANBARU – Plantation Agency, Province Riau is preparing themselves in plantation sector, such as, targetting the fresh fruit production to be 35 tons/hectare/year.
“Until now, there are many people produce palm oil about 4,8 tons/hectare/year. It is a challenge, how to boost the quality and the productivity,” said Chief of Plantation Agency, Zulher, as quoted from Riau Terkini, Wednesday, (4/6/2014).
On the other hand, he thought, the plantation sector in Riau just cleans up in several aspects but only some of them. This will be done to welcome the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015. (T3)
