JAKARTA – Palm oil industries become the consideration for the businessmen. It was noted, by the end of 2014, Unilever Oleochemical Indonesia, one sub industry of Unilever Indonesia planned to operate its palm oil factory commercially in North Sumatera.
The factory will process oleochemical – chemical ingredients from the plants and animal fat – such as, fatty acid and glicerol which are generally used in the domestic products, including, detergent and soap.
“Globally, Unilever is the biggest consumer in the world. We try to search our products for we are struggling for the environmental conservation,” Director and Secretary of Unilever Indonesia, Sancoyo Antarikso said in the public presentation in Jakarta, Wednesday, (4/6/2014).
Oleochemical factory, as quoted from Jakarta Globe, will spend Rp 1,5 billions or US$ 126 millions and it will be in Special Economic Zone, Sei Mangkei, in Simalungun, North Sumatera. This project has spent half of the investment, or about Rp 750 billions.
Sancoyo continued, 20% of the production will be allocated in Indonesia. “The rest will be exported to whole over the world,” he said. (T3)
