400 Palm Oil Trees were Cut Off in Riparian




KINABATANGAN – More than 400 palm oil trees had been cut off in Riparian in Kinabatangan plantation, Malaysia. As the change, about 4.600 kinds of the original trees were planted by Batu Putih Community Ekowisata Koperasi ( KOPEL ) Restorasi HutanTeam.

Executive Manager KOPEL, Rosli Jukrana said, the team had done the best for about one month to vanish fragile palm oil and replanted eight kinds of original trees in three hectares area.

"There would be eight hectares to recover the plantation and we hope to finish it in several weeks to go. Then we will nurse the plants which will take time for about three to five years and monitorize the forest,” he said as quoted from Bernama, Wednesday, (4/6/2014). (T3)
