Sarongge –Palm oil plantation could not seperate from the efforts to decrease the emission. As it is noted in the National Action Plans to Decrease Green House Effect, palm oil trees are potential to decrease the carbon emission.

Head of Green Economy Unit, United Nations Office for REDD+ Coordinator in Indonesia (UNORCID), Johan Kieft said, it is very good and suggested to plant palm oil in the bush areas for the plants will reduce 30 tons emission per hectare and palm oil could absorb 70 tons carbon/hectare. “The bush area will be better if palm oil plants are about to grow,” he recently said to InfoSAWIT in Sarongge, Cianjur.

But Johan suggested not to plant palm oil in the primer forests which function to absorb more than 100% carbon/hectare.”Don’t plant palm oil in the primer forests,” he said.q T2
