SANGATTA–Investment in palm oil sectors gave positive implications for the progress of cooperation in East Kutai, East Kalimantan. In addition, the plasma plantation did too which was cultivated in partnership platform between the people and the company.

“Palm oil partnership in East Kutai, we developed more less 124 units cooperation which were spread in 18 subdistrics in East Kutai,” Chief of Plantation Agent, East Kutai, Akhmadi Baharuddin, as quoted from Samarinda Pos, Thrusday (24//4/2014).

Hundreds of cooperation had been existing and developing for making cooperation through partnership programme with at least 106 companies operating in East Kutai.

The cooperations would manage the partnership plantations, more less 81.543 hectares (ha). It had been realized for 37.214 ha area but still Not Productive Plants 10.306 hectares in Productive Plants status. So the total of the plantations which were managed through the partnership programme involving cooperations were 47.969 ha.

The partnership plantations were 20% area which the companies planned to develop plasma plantations for the people.

“The numbers of cooperation should be increasing. Furthermore, it would keep developing,” Akhmadi said. (T3)
