JAKARTA – One biggest palm oil company in Indonesia, PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk (AALI) claimed, his side has implemented sustainable palm oil because the government has published the policies to sustainable and environmental palm oil.
Director of AALI, Joko Supriyono in a discussion of Forest Asia Summit 2014, in Jakarta, which InfoSAWIT attended, Tuesday (6/5/2014) said, his company supported certification of Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) which the government regulated through Ministry of Agriculture.
Basically ISPO was the law of the regulation. “The regulation will lead us to implement sustainable palm oil,” Joko said.
Since three years ago, the government had made regulation to new plantation or the regulations were written in Moratorium. Beside that, Joko continued, palm oil industries became one important sector for the economy. (T3)
