JAKARTA – Sustainable commitments were not fully done by Indonesian palm oil companies. Monday (5/5/2014), PT. Munte Waniq Jaya Perkasa (MWJP) should replace Muara Tae to plant palm oil.
“PT Munte Wantiq Jaya Perkasa displaced Muara Tae region which had been guarded by soldiers,” Coordinator of Law and Politics Aliansi Masyarakat Adat Nusantara (AMAN), Rukka Sombolinggi said to InfoSAWIT, in a discussion of Forests Asia Summit 2014 conference in Hotel Shangri-La, Jakarta, Tuesday (6/5/2014).
He explained, MWJP which was one member of RSPO was repremanded by RSPO. But before, AMAN also reported that on April MWJP had planted palm oil in the disputed area in Muara Tae.
“Hundreds trees of palm oil had been planted since days ago. And not far from the area, heavy tool was displacing the location which the people wanted to live in,” AMAN said. (T3)
