NIGERIA – Coordinator Secretary in Economy and Secretary of Treasury, Ngozi Okonjo -Iweala, as reported byPunchng, Thrusday (15/5) will officially announce palm oil plantation of University of Ilorin (Unilorin) .
Monday (11/5) Unilorin Head of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, said, the first plantation project would be about 1.000 hectares (ha). It would increase the mandate of academic teaching, researches in the university and the dedication for people.
“The project will make the training and laboratorium facilities for the students in Faculty of Agriculture and Environment and Departement of Forestry, Biology and other related disciplines,” he said.
He said too that the plantation would be the good source of income in internal university. .
beside that, the growing palm oil seeds had been bought from the National Institute for Palm Oil Research, Benin City, in Edo. (T3)
