JAKARTA – Environmental issues still become the “home work” for national palm oil industries. ButVice President of Indonesian Republic, Jusuf Kalla thinks, it is not a big problem.

Though the issues are taken as the trade competitiveness, the facts show, Vice President said, Indonesia still becomes the biggest CPO exporter in the world. “Now we are the biggest exporter country in the world,” he said in Jakarta, Monday (27/4).

But he did not deny that in the progress of palm oil industries, there are lots of problems ahead, such as, the black campaigns relating to the environmental damages done by palm oil industries.

So, Kalla continued, the government should keep oblidging palm oil businessmen to implement sustainable practices so that Indonesia keeps becoming the exporter of this commodity.

“We will improve it, such as, forbidding the businessmen to plant in scrambled areas,” he said. (T3)
