PEKANBARU –Provincial Government of Riau makes a policy not to enlarge palm oil plantation area. Head of Regional Promotion and Modal Investment Agency, Riau Province, Irhas Irfan said, it is impossible to enlarge and cultivate palm oil plantation industries in the region.
“We do not accept palm oil plantation industry anymore for there is no more area,” he explained, Friday (24/4) as quoted from Bertuah Pos.
But Irfan continued, the government keeps giving chances for the investors to make the downstream industries from palm oil.
“If there are some investors who want to make palm oil downstream industries, we welcome them. Downstream industries are available. They are free to choose the location if they develop the industries in people – base,” he said.(T3)
