InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesia’s crude palm oil (CPO) market saw another subdued trading session on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, as the highest bid at the PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) tender was withdrawn at Rp15,602 per kilogram.
The figure marked a Rp100 per kilogram decline, or around 0.64 percent, from the previous day’s Rp15,702 per kilogram. The withdrawal came as Malaysian palm oil futures also moved lower, reflecting broader weakness across vegetable oil markets.
According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, CPO offered on a Franco Dumai basis opened at Rp15,650 per kilogram before the tender was withdrawn, with the highest bid recorded at Rp15,602 per kilogram.
Meanwhile, the FOB Talang Duku tender opened at Rp15,400 per kilogram, with the highest bid reaching Rp15,352 per kilogram. The Franco Teluk Bayur tender opened at Rp15,450 per kilogram, while the highest bid stood at Rp15,313 per kilogram.
Malaysian CPO Futures Lose Ground
The weakness was also visible in Malaysia, one of the world’s key palm oil trading centers.
Reuters reported that Malaysian palm oil futures declined during Wednesday’s trading session after gaining for two consecutive sessions. The decline followed weaker movements in other vegetable oil markets traded on the Dalian exchange.
The benchmark palm oil contract for October 2026 delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange fell RM31 per metric ton, or 0.65 percent, to RM4,717, equivalent to approximately US$1,153.30 per metric ton, during early trading.
The movement in Malaysian futures remains an important market indicator for global palm oil prices, including Indonesia’s CPO market, as traders assess developments across competing vegetable oils and broader commodity markets.
