MEDAN – In facing The Asean Economic Society or Masyarakat Ekonomy Asean (MEA), North Sumatera is focusing to palm oil commmodity as the export oriented commodity which was the palm oil fruit.

Experts Staff in Economy, Natural Resources and Finance, North Sumatera Governor’s Office, Rialdi Lubis said that when attending the Seminar of Mea which was held by Masyarakat Ilmuan Teknology Indonesia Kluster Mahasiswa of all North Sumatera Region on Saturday (4/4) in the Hall of Technic, North Sumatera University.

Quoted from Garda Media, Rialdi explained, from the people empowerment perspective, the provincial government focuses to the small business which is done by the Work Training. This is meant to advantage and develop the skill and production of the people, starting from the production, and the quality. For example, the Corporte Social Responsibility which the Regional State Enterprice runs for the small business.

He said, many small business products have been exported to the foreign countries (export oriented. So we should prepare and act fast to face MEA which will be starting in January 2016.

Indonesia has implemented MEA about 83%. North Sumatera has been preparing some infrastructures, such as, street, and add power electricity about 400 Megawatt,” he said. (T3)
