InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesia's Attorney General's Office (AGO) said it has found no evidence to date implicating PT Salim Ivo Mas Pratama in an ongoing corruption investigation involving the alleged manipulation of palm oil export values.
Speaking to reporters at the AGO headquarters in Jakarta on Tuesday (June 23), Syarief Sulaiman Nahdi, Director of Investigation at the Office of the Assistant Attorney General for Special Crimes (JAM Pidsus), said investigators concluded that the company markets its products solely to meet domestic demand rather than for export activities, which remain the primary focus of the investigation.
"PT Salim Ivo Mas Pratama sells its products to serve the domestic market," Syarief said.
He added that investigators have not identified any facts or evidence indicating the company's involvement in the alleged export value manipulation scheme.
Executives of PT Ivo Mas Tunggal Questioned
While clearing PT Salim Ivo Mas Pratama of any current indication of wrongdoing, Syarief confirmed that investigators have questioned several executives of PT Ivo Mas Tunggal as part of efforts to trace export transactions and examine documentation related to palm oil exports.
"The investigation team has questioned several directors of PT Ivo Mas Tunggal," he said, adding that authorities are continuing to gather documentary evidence and witness testimony before determining any legal status for individuals involved. The identities of those questioned have not been disclosed.
Investigation Focuses on Export Documentation
According to the AGO, investigators are examining transaction flows, export documentation, and the reporting mechanism used to declare export values that are suspected of differing from actual conditions.
Authorities said the investigation forms part of broader government efforts to strengthen governance in Indonesia's plantation and palm oil trade sectors while ensuring practices that could potentially harm state finances are addressed.
Additional evidence continues to be collected to clarify the respective roles of parties linked to the case.
Legal Process Continues
The Attorney General's Office emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing and that any decision to designate suspects will only be made once investigators have obtained sufficient evidence in accordance with Indonesian law.
Syarief also stressed that the AGO continues to uphold the presumption of innocence for all parties mentioned during the investigation.
With evidence gathering and witness examinations still underway, authorities said the investigation into the alleged corruption involving palm oil export value manipulation will continue in an effort to identify those ultimately responsible. (T2)
