SANGATTA – To develop the people’s economy in District of East Kutai (East Kalimantan), the government plans to re-build factories to produce crude palm oil (CPO).
According to Chief of Plantation Agent, Ease Kalimantan, Akhmadi Baharuddin, seperti dilansir Sapos, Kamis (15/5/2014), there has been 20 units of palm oil factories spreading in several subdistricts. It is planned to build 8 units for CPO factories.
“If it is calculated, in the next several years, there will be significantly increasing of palm oil, about 120%. Beside that, East Kutai has two units of kernel oil factories,” he said.
He continued, palm oil productions in 2012 reached 2.498.530 tons and it absorbed about 61.149 men to work.
For information, by 2014 East Kutai has planted 307.368 hectare of palm oil. 68.818 hectares belong to the people. (T3)
