JAKARTA–The government’s plan to reduce or decrease the threshold of crude palm oil (CPO) out fee (OF) to be about US$ 500-600/ton is thought to burden the palm oil farmers.
General Director of Plantation, Ministry of Agriculture, GamalNasir said, the reduction of the threshold could effect to the low farmers’ fruit production. “Ministry of Agriculture will tell the farmers’ aspiration. If the threshold gets lower, it will effect the fruit price,” he said in Jakarta, Monday (30/3).
Beside that, if we want to compete with Malaysia, the CPO OF should be O%. If the OF runs, Indonesia will not be able to compete with Malaysia.
“If in this April, Malaysia will make the export tax about 4,5%, Indonesia should also run the same level,” he explained. (T3)
