InfoSAWIT, SINGAPURA — Golden Agri-Resources (GAR) has once again strengthened its leadership in sustainability, securing Platinum for Asia’s Best Supply Chain Reporting and Bronze for Asia’s Best Environmental Impact Reporting at the 11th Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA).
According to Anita Neville, Chief Sustainability & Communications Officer (CSCO), the awards reflect years of continuous improvement in the company’s sustainability practices.
“These awards reaffirm our commitment to rigorous sustainability reporting and continuous improvement,” she said, quoted by InfoSAWIT from ESGPost, Friday (28/11/2025).
GAR manages over 500,000 hectares of plantations and works with more than 800,000 independent farmers—making transparent and credible sustainability reporting a corporate foundation rather than mere compliance.
Among key highlights:
GAR has advanced traceability and third-party verification of its supply chain.
The company uses a double materiality approach to map future ESG risks.
Its data integrity system includes multi-layer governance, external assurance, and regular sustainability committee reviews.
Neville also highlighted community-centered programs such as Sawit Terampil, which aims to train 100,000 farmers by 2035, and early childhood education partnerships in rural areas.
“Sustainability is not part of our business strategy — it is our business strategy,” she said, underscoring GAR’s push for low-carbon products, nature-based solutions, and investments in renewable technologies such as methane capture and solar panels.
Neville concluded that high-quality sustainability reporting requires transparency about both achievements and challenges: “Let the data speak, and let the impact be visible.” (T2)
