JAKARTA – Environmental issues and social conflicts keeps happening in Indonesian palm oil industries especially Indonesia is well known as the biggest producer in the world. According to Indonesian Palm Oil Plantation Businessmen (IPOPB), it is not so that palm oil damages the environment.
“Our palm oil products are environment. Indonesian CPO gets more RSPO certification than Malaysian’s,” Chairman of IPOPB, Soedjai Kartasasmita who also as the Chairman of ICEPO in Jakarta said to InfoSAWIT, Monday (19/5/2014).
He explained, Indonesian RSPO noted, about 47,85% or 4,8 millions of ton from 9,7 millions of tons have been certified by RSPO which derived from Indonesia. The government of Indonesia showed the seriousness to the develop national and environmental palm oil by making and implementing the standard of Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certification.
