IPOC 2025 Opens in Bali, Focuses on Navigating Global Complexity and Growth

InfoSAWIT, NUSA DUA — The 21st Indonesian Palm Oil Conference (IPOC) officially opened on Thursday (Nov. 13) at the Bali International Convention Center, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and international stakeholders to discuss the future of the global palm oil sector amid shifting trade dynamics and sustainability challenges.

Organized by the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI), this year’s conference adopts the theme “Navigating Complexity, Driving Growth: Governance, Biofuel Policy, and Global Trade.” The event aims to provide policy direction and market insight for Indonesia’s strategic commodity.

The conference was inaugurated by Minister for National Development Planning (PPN) Prof. Rachmat Pambudy, who emphasized the importance of inclusive and sustainable growth in managing palm oil — a sector that remains vital to Indonesia’s economy and global food-energy systems.

Also delivering keynote remarks were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, GAPKI Chair Eddy Martono, GAPKI Chair of IPOC Committee Mona Surya, and Deputy Foreign Minister Havas Oegroseno.

The three-day event, held from 13–15 November, features in-depth discussions on global demand trends, renewable energy policies, and regulatory developments including the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). Around 1,500 delegates from more than 30 countries are attending the forum.

Industry analysts expect this year’s IPOC to serve as a platform for recalibrating strategies to maintain Indonesia’s leadership in the global palm oil market while strengthening sustainable production practices. (T2)
