InfoSAWIT, SOUTH KALIMANTAN — The South Kalimantan Provincial Government, through the Plantation and Livestock Agency (Disbunnak), is strengthening its commitment to supporting the increased welfare of palm oil farmers through the implementation of the Smallholder Replanting Program (PSR). This effort was realized through monitoring and evaluation (monev) activities conducted by the PSR Team in three regencies—Banjar, Barito Kuala, and Tanah Laut—from October 29–30, 2025.
The activity aimed to ensure the PSR program adheres to regulations and provides a tangible impact on the productivity and income of palm oil growers in South Kalimantan.
Drh. Suparmi, Head of Disbunnak Kalsel, explained that the monev is part of the regional government's strategy to ensure the PSR program is well-targeted. "We want to ensure the Smallholder Replanting Program is not just a routine activity, but truly an instrument for increasing farmer productivity and welfare," she stated, as reported by InfoSAWIT from the South Kalimantan Provincial Government on Tuesday (4/11/2025).
The success of the PSR program is measured not only by the area replanted but also by the extent to which farmers benefit economically and technically. The team reviewed technical and administrative aspects, including obstacles faced by farmers, such as access to financing and the availability of superior seeds.
"With the support of all parties, we are optimistic that PSR can be the engine of regional economy while strengthening the foundation of sustainable plantations in South Kalimantan," Suparmi added. (T2)
