InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) continues to expand its collaboration reach with various stakeholders. Recently, this palm oil fund manager participated in the Indonesia Research and Innovation (InaRI) Expo 2025 organized by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, on October 28–30, 2025.

BPDP's presence at the event is not just a routine exhibition. Rather, it is a strategic step to connect the research world with micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) operating in the plantation sector. This step aligns with BPDP's efforts to strengthen the applied research ecosystem and accelerate the downstreaming of innovation results at the business actor level.

Head of BPDP's Community Cooperation and MSMEs Division, Helmi Muhansyah, said that InaRI Expo is an important venue for BPDP to expand its promotion and collaboration network with researchers and academics.

“So far, we have reached various layers of society, from early childhood education children to journalists and MSME actors. Through InaRI Expo, we want to open new collaborations with researchers who can contribute to developing research and innovation in the plantation sector,” he said in Jakarta, in an official statement received by InfoSAWIT, Saturday (1/11/2025).

On that occasion, BPDP showcased research results from the Palm Oil Research Grant program, such as the ITS Palm Radar (RAWITS) by students from the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) and PALMA X-1 from Universitas Pancasila. Not only that, various palm oil, coconut, and cocoa-based MSME products were also displayed as tangible evidence of the plantation sector's contribution to the community's economy.

According to Helmi, this activity becomes a momentum for disseminating palm oil research results while introducing outstanding MSME product innovations to a wider public. “We hope for lots of input from researchers to help MSMEs develop, including with the application of technologies like artificial intelligence,” he said.

With the grand theme “Unlocking Innovation, Empowering the Future with AI,” InaRI Expo 2025 presents collaboration between researchers, industry, and research funding institutions. BPDP sees this moment as a strategic opportunity to strengthen cross-sector synergy.

“The AI topic raised by BRIN is very relevant. This technology can be utilized for research and management of palm oil, cocoa, or coconut commodities, while supporting MSME digitization,” explained Helmi.

BPDP's participation in InaRI Expo 2025 affirms the agency's commitment to strengthening research, innovation, and local economic empowerment. Integrated research collaboration is expected to drive increased added value of plantation commodities and Indonesia's competitiveness in the global market. (T2)
