InfoSAWIT, TANA TIDUNG — The process of signing the addendum to the memorandum of understanding (MOU) of the Joint Business Cooperative Plasma Menjelutung Perdana Lestari with the Company PT. Pipit Citra Perdana (PT. PCP) has drawn scrutiny from internal cooperative management. This is because the signing was carried out without going through deliberation mechanisms and without the knowledge of other management members, namely the Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, and Supervisory Board, as well as plasma cooperative members.
Secretary of KUB PMPL, Ares Wahyudi, revealed that the draft addendum MOU was never distributed in advance to the management ranks consisting of vice chairman, secretary, treasurer, supervisor, or cooperative members. “We should have been given the opportunity to study the contents of the draft before it was signed. But in reality, only the cooperative chairman signed without the approval of other management,” said Ares, to InfoSAWIT, Thursday (30/10/2025).
According to him, this step violates the principles of transparency and deliberation that should be the basis for every decision-making in the cooperative body. “If mechanisms like this are allowed, important decisions could be taken unilaterally without control from members. Moreover, this addendum concerns the interests of many parties, especially plasma farmers,” he added.
Information gathered indicates that the addendum MOU was also signed by the cooperative chairman, village head, and representatives from the Plantation Office and the Industry and Cooperative Trade Office. However, several management members consider the step too hasty because the draft that should have been socialized first to cooperative members was already in final form.
Previously, the request for addendum to the cooperation agreement (PKS) had been submitted since June 28, 2024, and became a topic of discussion in various official forums, including mediation at the Tana Tidung Regent's Office on October 2, 2024, Hearing Session (RDP) at the Tana Tidung Regency DPRD on March 10, 2025, up to the presentation of Remaining Business Results (SHU) by PT PCP management in the Menjelutung Village Office Hall on May 19, 2025.
The agreement to update the cooperation agreement was also strengthened through the minutes of the plasma coordination meeting on October 24, 2025, attended by cooperative management and supervisors, village head, BPD, RT chairman, as well as community and adat figures of Menjelutung Village. In that meeting, all parties stated agreement that the PKS addendum needs to be done so that the cooperation relationship between KUB PMPL and PT PCP becomes fairer and more transparent.
However, the unilateral step in the addendum signing process is now considered to actually create new distrust among cooperative members. “We do not reject the addendum, but what we hope for is an open process, in accordance with cooperative principles: from members, by members, and for members,” emphasized Ares.
