InfoSAWIT, PALU – The Central Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sulteng) reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining fair and sustainable governance in the palm oil industry. This was stated by Representative of the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation Polda Sulteng, Police Commissioner Heri Edrino Sihombing, S.I.K., M.H., who represented the Sulteng Police Chief at the Celebes Forum GAPKI Sulawesi Branch 2025, as quoted from RRI.

This annual forum serves as a strategic platform for palm oil stakeholders in eastern Indonesia to strengthen synergy in building the future of the Sulawesi palm oil industry. The region is considered to have great potential as a new national palm oil hub, thanks to extensive land support, growing investments, and increasing capacity of local farmers and businesses.

In his presentation, Police Commissioner Heri emphasized that the police play a crucial role in ensuring all plantation business activities run in accordance with legal corridors and environmental sustainability principles.

“We are present to ensure the palm oil industry in Sulawesi grows healthily, orderly, and benefits society,” he said.

He added that fair and transparent law enforcement will create a conducive business climate while encouraging responsible business practices.

Through this forum, collaboration between the government, business world, and law enforcement agencies was established to strengthen joint commitments towards a competitive green economy. This synergy is expected to make Sulawesi an example of palm oil industry development that is not only productive but also environmentally conscious and supportive of community welfare. (T2)
