InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – While many palm oil companies remain focused on the upstream sector, PT Jhonlin Agro Raya Tbk (JAR) is moving further downstream. The company, which originated in Borneo, has successfully transformed its plantation business into a new force in the green energy industry and high-value palm oil derivatives.
Founded in 2014, JAR began by managing 20,000 hectares of palm oil plantations. Within a decade, however, the company has emerged as a major player with an integrated industrial chain, covering refinery, biodiesel, and cooking oil production.
A significant milestone occurred in 2021 when JAR inaugurated its modern palm oil processing facilities, comprising a refinery plant with a capacity of 1,650 tons per day, a biodiesel plant with 1,500 tons per day, and a fractionation plant with 250 tons per day. In the same year, JAR made history with the first shipment of 5,000 kiloliters of biodiesel to Pertamina, marking a strategic step in supporting the national bioenergy program.
As reported by InfoSAWIT from MetroTV on Tuesday (14/10/2025), JAR did not stop there, expanding its downstream business with the launch of JAR Cooking Oil, officially available since 2022. This product symbolizes the company's transformation—from a conventional palm oil player to a part of the sustainable food and energy solution.
Now, after officially listing on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) under the ticker code JAR, the company, operating under the Jhonlin Group umbrella, is further affirming its ambition to become a driving force for the national integrated palm oil industry. Jhonlin Agro Raya's transformation reflects a new direction for the Indonesian palm oil industry: not just exporting raw materials, but creating added value through downstreaming and renewable energy. With a strong foundation and sustainable innovation, JAR appears ready to elevate Indonesian palm oil—from the field to the future of energy. (T2)
