InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – PT Salim Ivomas Pratama Tbk. (SIMP), a subsidiary of the Salim Group in the palm oil plantation sector, has provided an official clarification to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) regarding media reports concerning alleged palm oil land ownership in forest areas without permits.
Through an information disclosure signed by SIMP Corporate Secretary Meyke Ayuningrum on Friday (10/10/2025), the company responded to a BEI letter dated October 9, 2025. The letter requested clarification on a news article titled "Corporations Turning Forests into Palm Oil Land to be Prosecuted, Here's the Amount of the Fine" published on October 6, 2025.
In its response, SIMP asserted that all productive land owned and managed by the company has valid permits in accordance with government regulations. The company stated that plantation activities are carried out on legal land and continuously adapt to the dynamics of changes in spatial planning and applicable forestry regulations.
"The Company has submitted applications for additional permits according to the mechanism regulated in the Job Creation Law (UUCK) and its implementing regulations," the management wrote in the disclosure letter, quoted by InfoSAWIT from Bisnis on Monday (13/10/2025).
SIMP also stated that the process for these additional permits is continually monitored and reviewed periodically. To date, the company has confirmed it has not received any notification, billing, or administrative sanctions from relevant government agencies. Consequently, SIMP cannot yet estimate the potential fines or material impact on its financial statements.
"The Company is committed to following all necessary processes to ensure the legal status of the land complies with the prevailing provisions," the statement continued. If any fines are imposed in the future, the company is prepared to resolve them according to the procedures and rules set by the government. (T2)
