Agrinas Palma Receives 1.5 Million Hectares of Palm Oil Land from Forest Order Task Force

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The government has affirmed its commitment to returning productive land to the people. Through the Forest Area Order Task Force (PKH Task Force), state assets recovered from illegal forest occupations have been officially handed over to be managed by PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero). The total land transferred amounts to 1.5 million hectares, marking a significant milestone in national palm oil governance.

The CEO of PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara, General (Ret.) Agus Sutomo, SE, emphasized that managing this land is not merely a business matter but a national mandate to improve the welfare of the people. "We are committed to upholding this national trust by managing these assets professionally, transparently, and in the best interests of the nation. Plantation revitalization is a priority to make the land productive again and ensure the results truly benefit the community," he said, as quoted by InfoSAWIT from Agrinas Palma on Tuesday (9/16/2025).

Since early 2025, the PKH Task Force has handed over the land in four phases. The first phase covered 221,868 hectares from the former PT Duta Palma in Riau and West Kalimantan, followed by a second phase of 216,977.75 hectares from 109 companies in nine provinces. The third phase included 394,547.29 hectares from 232 companies/cooperatives in four provinces, and the final fourth phase was 674,178.44 hectares from 245 companies in 15 provinces. The total now under Agrinas's management is 1.5 million hectares.

The Chief Executive of the PKH Task Force and Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, stated that this achievement is proof that the recovery of state assets is working effectively. "From a target of 1 million hectares, in eight months we have successfully reclaimed 3.3 million hectares of forest. Of that amount, 1.5 million hectares have been handed over to PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara with an indicative asset value of Rp150 trillion," he explained. Additionally, state revenues recorded Rp325 billion from escrow accounts, Rp184.8 billion from taxes, and Rp1.2 trillion from land and building tax and other taxes.

Agrinas Palma Nusantara now operates 17 Palm Oil Mills (PKS) and is preparing to downstream palm oil products into cooking oil and biodiesel. The potential production is estimated to reach 5.7 million tons of vegetable oil per year, which can support the B40 biodiesel program with up to 15.8 billion liters. "Our job is to normalize the plantations to increase productivity. The results are expected to support food and energy security and create widespread employment," said Agus Sutomo.

This major step involves cross-ministerial and institutional synergy, including the Attorney General's Office, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. The government affirms that this land transfer not only resolves legal violations but also marks a new chapter in palm oil management that is more sustainable and benefits the people. "The success of the PKH Task Force is a clear testament to Indonesia's commitment to returning natural resources for the benefit of the nation," Febrie asserted. (T2)
