According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the CPO Franco Belawan & Dumai price was set at Rp14,528/Kg. Meanwhile, the price for Loco Pelaihari opened at Rp13,974/Kg but was withdrawn (WD), with the highest bid at Rp13,427/kg.
Reuters reported that the Malaysian palm oil futures exchange remained closed on September 15-16 due to a national holiday.
Meanwhile, IndiaTimes reported that the Solvent Extractors’ Association of India (SEA) noted a significant shift in the country's vegetable oil import patterns in August 2025. Soybean oil imports fell by 25.27% to 367,917 tons, the lowest level in four months. Conversely, sunflower oil imports surged by 28.53% to 257,080 tons, a seven-month high.
During the same period, India also recorded the import of 6,000 tons of canola oil, ending a nearly five-year hiatus. This move signals a diversification of supply amid the dynamic global vegetable oil market.
Overall, high import volumes of both palm oil and sunflower oil drove a 4.7% increase in India's total vegetable oil imports compared to the previous month. The figure reached 1.62 million tons, the highest level since July 2024.
