PEKANBARU –Asian Agri which is now as palm oil plantation company by cultivating 160.000 hectares; 60.000 hectares belong to the plasma farmers, plans to do replanting programme in the partnerships’ plantations within Kredit Koperasi Primer untuk Anggota (KKPA) pattern.

Head Plasma, Asian Agri, Pengarapen Gurusinga said, the replanting programme will plant superior seeds so the farmres’ productivity could increase more.

“We have been successful in the first generation and it is time to do replanting programme based on our motto, ‘Today should be better than tomorrow’,” he said in the Topaz Exhibition Ceremony, Tuesday (10/3).

He explained, the main plantations of Asian Agri have planted Topaz superior seeds and they are satisfied. In the first year, the plasma farmers’ plantations have reached 8 tons to 9 tons per hectare. So planting Topaz seeds will produce 13 tons to 20 tons per hectare.

“It is proven in the main plantations of Asian Agri. The Topaz seeds have been tested and proved,” he said as quoted from Bertuah Pos.

 Head Oil Palm Research Station (OPRS), Ang Boon Beng added, Topaz is superior seed from OPRSproduced byAsian Agri locating in Village of Petapahan Subdistrict Tapung, District of Kampar, Riau Province.Topaz seeds also has the licence from Ministry of Agriculture, Indonesian Republic No. 57-60/KPTS/SR.120/I/2004.
