InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The Forest Area Order Task Force (Satgas PKH) has successfully returned control of forest areas to the state. In this fourth phase, an area of 674,178.44 hectares was reclaimed from 245 companies spread across 15 provinces.
The handover ceremony took place at the Attorney General's Office in Jakarta on Friday (9/12), attended by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, who serves as the Deputy Head I of the Satgas PKH Steering Committee. In his remarks, Burhanuddin affirmed that the crackdown on illegal forest and mining areas is a concrete step by the state to promote social justice, preserve the environment, and ensure the management of natural resources for the greatest prosperity of the people.
Since its formation eight months ago, the Satgas PKH has reclaimed 3.32 million hectares of forest area, far exceeding its initial target of 1 million hectares. Of this total, 1.5 million hectares have been handed over to PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero) for management, while 81,793 hectares have been transferred to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry as part of the Tesso Nilo National Park area.
The Ministry of Finance noted that the reclaimed land from previous phases has an asset value of approximately Rp150 trillion. In addition to saving a massive amount of assets, the Satgas PKH's actions have also made a significant contribution to state revenue. As of August 31, 2025, a total of Rp325 billion has been deposited into an escrow account, with tax payments of Rp184.82 billion, business contracts worth Rp2.34 trillion with a net profit of Rp1.32 trillion, and an additional land and building tax of Rp1.21 trillion as of September 8, 2025.
Beyond the plantation sector, the Satgas PKH also found illegal mining operations without Forest Area Borrow-to-Use Permits (IPPKH) covering 4.26 million hectares. After verifying 51 companies, 14 were identified as ready for repossession. Most recently, the task force successfully reclaimed land from two mining companies: PT Weda Bay Nickel in Central and East Halmahera, North Maluku, covering 148.25 hectares, and PT Tonia Mitra Sejahtera in Bombana, Southeast Sulawesi, covering 172.82 hectares. The total reclaimed mining land now stands at 321.07 hectares.
In an official statement released by InfoSAWIT on Sunday (9/14/2025), the Head of the Satgas PKH Executive Team, Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah, stated that this success was a result of collaboration across ministries, agencies, regional governments, and law enforcement officials. He also mentioned that the President's signing of the amendment to Government Regulation No. 24 of 2021 provides a crucial legal basis for calculating and collecting administrative fines from violating corporations.
The Phase IV land handover meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Satgas PKH Steering Committee and Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni, Minister of Environment Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, Head of the BPKP Muhammad Yusuf Ateh, Deputy Commander of the TNI, Acting Deputy Attorney General, Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Deputy Minister of ATR/BPN, as well as high-ranking officials from the TNI, Polri, and other related agencies.
With this achievement, the Satgas PKH further affirms its commitment to eradicating illegal forest and mining land occupation, while ensuring that the use of natural resources is fair, transparent, and sustainable. (T2)
