UNJA–BPDP Forge Strategic Collaboration to Produce Top-Tier Talent for Palm Oil Downstreaming

InfoSAWIT, MENDALO – Jambi University (UNJA) has officially partnered with the Oil Palm Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) to strengthen the national palm oil industry. Through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Movenpick Hotel in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/20/2025), BPDP granted full scholarships to 30 students in the D3 Chemical Analyst Program at UNJA's Faculty of Science and Technology (FST).

This partnership is a testament to both parties' commitment to producing superior human resources who are ready to drive the government's major agenda of palm oil downstreaming. BPDP believes that D3 Chemical Analyst graduates play a vital role as experts capable of processing palm oil into value-added products.

"This scholarship is crucial for the sustainability of our D3 Chemical Analyst Program. Moreover, the palm oil downstreaming agenda requires a workforce ready for employment from chemical analyst graduates," said Dhian Eka Wijaya, Head of UNJA's D3 Chemical Analyst Program, as quoted by InfoSAWIT from UNJA on Monday (9/8/2025).

The scholarship from BPDP covers all student needs for the three-year study period, from tuition fees and certification to living expenses and transportation. The program will begin in the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

Dhian added that this support also serves as a benchmark for the sustainability of the partnership going forward. "We hope this collaboration continues. However, full support from the university, especially in providing adequate laboratory facilities, is also greatly needed," she said.

The UNJA and BPDP collaboration not only addresses the needs for program sustainability but also represents a concrete step in supporting the transformation of the palm oil industry. This initiative also provides a new model for other universities to establish strategic partnerships with the industry. (T2)
