West Kalimantan Plantation Agency Supports Community Plantation Development in Sintang

InfoSAWIT, SINTANG – The West Kalimantan Plantation and Livestock Agency (Disbunnak) has voiced its support for the Community Plantation Development Facilitation (FPKM) program, a mandatory initiative for palm oil plantation companies. This was announced by the Head of Disbunnak Kalbar, Heronimus Hero, while attending an FPKM socialization event hosted by PT Permata Hijau Sarana (PHS) at the Botani Building in the Sintang Regency Agriculture and Plantation Office last Thursday.

The socialization event was opened by Sintang Deputy Regent Florensius Roni. In his speech, he stressed that the FPKM program is vital for improving the welfare of the community, especially farmers in the eight villages included in the partnership plan with PT PHS.

“The model of developing community plantations through FPKM has proven to provide great benefits. This program not only helps farmers grow their businesses but also encourages the creation of a healthy partnership between the company and the community,” Florensius said, as quoted by InfoSAWIT from Disbun Kalbar on Monday (9/1/2025).

In addition to the regional leader, the socialization was attended by the Sepauk sub-district head and eight village heads whose areas are part of the prospective farmers and land (CPCL) for the PT PHS FPKM partnership. They received a direct explanation of the plantation development model that will be implemented, including the cooperation mechanism to be agreed upon.

Heronimus Hero added that the FPKM scheme will succeed if it is based on commitment and transparency between the company and the community. "The key to success lies in a mutually beneficial partnership. That way, the company can grow, and the community can feel the real benefits," he emphasized. (T2)
