InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Indonesia's palm oil industry recorded a positive performance in June 2025. According to a report from the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI), crude palm oil (CPO) production in June reached 4.82 million tons, up from 4.16 million tons the previous month. Palm kernel oil (PKO) production also increased to 465,000 tons compared to 396,000 tons in May.

"Cumulatively, CPO and PKO production through June 2025 has reached 27.89 million tons, marking a 6.51% growth compared to the same period last year, which was 26.19 million tons," said GAPKI Executive Director Mukti Sardjono in an official statement received by InfoSAWIT on Friday (22/8/2025).

Domestic consumption showed mixed trends. Use for oleochemicals rose to 192,000 tons (+2.67%), and biodiesel consumption increased to 1.08 million tons (+3.95%), while food consumption slightly decreased to 800,000 tons (-0.37%).

Export performance in June 2025 surged significantly. Total palm oil product exports were recorded at 3.61 million tons, a substantial 35.37% increase from 2.66 million tons in May. The largest jump came from exports of processed palm oil, which hit 2.60 million tons (+32.13%), followed by CPO, which soared to 418,000 tons (+155.67%). In contrast, oleochemical exports saw a slight decline to 420,000 tons (-3.74%).

This rise in production coupled with a surge in exports indicates a positive trend for Indonesia's palm oil industry amidst global market dynamics. It also provides a strong signal of the sector's contribution to the national economy in the second half of 2025. (T2)
