NEW DELHI – Head of Seeds Science, in Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), DK Yadav said, the recent rain in the westnorth of India could be positve to increase the rapeseed production. But if the rain happens in a long time, it will be vise versa – there will be challenges to increase the vegetable oil which will be the record in four years.
“The rain recently happened brought the good climate to produce better oil. But we still see and wait for the next climate by the end of this month,” he said as quoted from Reuters, Wednesday (11/3)
The rapeseed will be harvested in next ten days. If the hailstroms happens, the plants could be broken badly. The continous rain will also make the pests.
Yadah continued, the lower production from the plants will increase the imports of vegetable oil to the highest level, especially palm oil imports from Indonesia and Malaysia. (T3)
