InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Over the last five years, Topaz palm oil seeds have spread throughout Indonesia's major palm oil plantation centers. From Lampung, Riau, and Jambi to Aceh, and from Kalimantan to West and Central Sulawesi, the name Topaz has become well-known among farmers as a symbol of superior seeds that are resilient and profitable.
"The Topaz GT seed has been commercialized since 2018-2019. It is now planted not only on our internal plantations but also by parties outside our group. Many of them have started harvesting, and the results are very encouraging," said Husen, the Topaz Marketing Manager from Asian Agri, to InfoSAWIT recently in Jakarta.
Topaz is also known for its commitment to service. Asian Agri doesn't just sell seeds; it oversees the entire growth process of the plants, from nursery to harvest. "We continuously monitor farmers who buy directly from us. If there's a problem, they just need to send a video or make a call, and we'll help find a solution. We don't abandon our customers after the sale," Husen emphasized.
To get Topaz seeds, farmers only need to meet the administrative requirements in accordance with Minister of Agriculture Decree No. 4 of 2005. By simply showing land ownership documents, a family card, and other supporting documents, farmers can get the superior Topaz seeds, with a minimum purchase of 500 seeds.
Husen stressed the importance of buying directly from official sources, not through third parties. He noted that purchases through unofficial channels are prone to fraud and make it difficult to access after-sales service. "We highly recommend buying directly from us. It's not only safe but also comes with a special discount for bulk purchases," he explained.
Asian Agri is also ready to provide assistance to cooperatives or farmer groups that want to plant Topaz on a large scale. With technical support and regular training, they hope to cultivate more successful and sustainable independent palm oil plantations.
Behind the Topaz seed packaging lies a significant mission to promote sustainable palm oil cultivation practices. The Ganoderma-tolerant variety not only boosts yields but also reduces farmers' dependence on chemical fungicides. This allows farmers to cut production costs and improve overall environmental health.
