InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The price of crude palm oil (CPO) at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) saw a withdrawal (WD) on Wednesday (20/8/2025), with the highest bid price reaching Rp14,560/kg. This marks a decrease of Rp166/kg, or 1.13%, compared to Tuesday's price of Rp14,726/kg.
According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the CPO price for Franco Belawan & Dumai opened at Rp14,642/kg but was withdrawn. The highest bid for this location was Rp14,560/kg. Likewise, the FOB Talang Duku price opened at Rp14,442/kg and also saw a withdrawal, with the highest bid at Rp14,360/kg.
This price decline aligns with trends on the global market. Reuters reported that palm oil futures on the Malaysian exchange weakened for the second consecutive day on Wednesday. The drop was primarily due to declining prices of competing vegetable oils in the global market.
The benchmark CPO futures contract for November 2025 delivery fell by RM25 per ton, or 0.55%, to RM4,496 (US$1,064.14) per ton during the midday trading break.
Market players are reportedly cautious ahead of the release of Malaysia's palm oil export data for August 1–20 by cargo surveyors. However, a weakening Malaysian ringgit, the currency in which the contracts are traded, provided a slight boost to prices.
Globally, the price of the most active soyoil contract on Dalian plunged by 2.22%, while its palm oil contract fell by 1.72%. Meanwhile, soyoil on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) also weakened by 0.54%.
