PEKANBARU - Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Syarif Kasim or famously known as UIN Suska locating in Pekanbaru, Riau Province cooperates with Pusat Penelitian kelapa sawit (PPKS) Medan, Thursday (6/3).
Director of UIN Suska Riau, Munzir Hitami said that it is an important cooperation for them to run Three Dharmas of the University – in this case – the reseach and service to the people. “In addition, the foresst in Riau have turned to be palm oil plantation,” he said as written in Info Riau.
He explained, it is estimated, most of Riau people depend on the palm oil plantation sector. So UIN Suska Riau should be able to give solution for the people. The Agriculture and Livestock Faculty is as the leading sector.
“It is not only in the fruit production but also about the downstream products and the other benefits, such as, the palm oil waste so that it is more useful for the people and the environment,” he explained. (T3)
