PUTRAJAYA– Malaysia which becomes the second biggest crude palm oil (CPO) producer fully supports the progress of this industry. So they will cut off the negative issues in this industry.
CEO Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC), Yusuf Basiron thought, the non government organizations (NGOs) telling the deforestation issues are not fair. Palm oil is planted in 0,1% or 15,6m hectareswhole over the world, while the livestocks use 31% atau 4,7bn hectares of total land in the world.
The agriculture industries use 23% of the land. These, he continued, prove, there are less areas to cultivate palm oil. “We have more forest than the western countries have,” he emphasized to The Star, Monday (2/3).
He also mentioned, the NGOs have many mistakes for being lack of researches about palm oil. (T3)
