JAKARTA/INFOSAWIT – The coordinators of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) end their duties in this February, 2015. Locating in Bali, the Conference will be held on 26 – 27 February 2015 to vote for the new Coordinators fro 2015 – 2018.
There are many hopes lied on the national palm oil businessmen organization – to be a strong and dynamic one. National palm oil industries always face many everlasting problems, such as, the regulations, environmental issues, the overlapping licence and the regional regulation which keep being harmful.
The future IPOAcoordinators should contain of the energic, agile, and reliable. The young generations or the youth are fresh and agile and they are expected to give the maximal result of the organization.
According to palm oil practitioner, Maruli Gultom, IPOA keeps repeating its own mistakes – not agile to the policy or the issues, for example, the Regulations from the Secretary which corner palm oil industries. “For years, we have unconducive situtations and the problems get larger,” the man who is also the commisioner in some palm oil plantation company said.
He continued, running an organization should be focus and seriuosly done, like what Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA) runs. “IPOA is just like ‘Nine Team Work’ – when there is a problem, they make a meeting,” Maruli added.
The organization or association is very important. So if it is done in old fashion, palm oil industries will be worse to face the problems. The international environmental non government organizations (NGOs) have been here and they advantage the local people, the pleasant and friendly leaders of this nation. It should be noticed, the international NGOs are supported by the professors (Phd). “So they cannot be randomly fought for. They should be faced by the professors too in this association,” Maruli said.
He continued, it is the time for the youth or young generations organize this association. He convinced, the youth could work hard, and dynamically move. “They have stronger mind and muscle but the old men just have good thoughts but the weak muscle,” he said with a smile. (T2)
