SOUTH TAPANULI– Palm oil farmers in District of South Tapanuli, North Sumatera complain about the gold mining there. The presence of the company causes the decreasing palm oil production.
Relating to the complaint, Head of Plantation and Livestock Agency, South Tapanuli, Hamdan Nasution said, it is normal to have complaint but the gold mining could not be blamed as the main source.
“We have got the complaint and it is positive. But if the suspect of the decreasing palm oil production has something to do with the Gold Mining Martabe Batangtoru, it is not right enough for there is no research yet,” he said as quoted from Harian SIB, recently.
He continued, the people should re-analyze the first planting. First of all, are the seeds in good qualities? Then what about the land with the plant. Those are some things to know so that the harvest will not be disappointed for the people themselves. (T3)
