KUALA LUMPUR – Non profit organization - Rountable on Sustainable Plam Oil (RSPO) welcomed the launching of European Sustainable Palm Oil Initiative in the summit of Netherland Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, on January 28th.
General Secretary of RSPO, Darrel Webber met Secretary of Ploumen and Director of Oil, Netherland, and Fatty Industry Association (the most valuable person), Frans Classen to discuss the progress in palm oil. “Europe imports 14% of the crude palm oil (CPO) in the world,” he said in his official statement, Wednesday (4/2).
He said, Secretary of Ploumen also wanted to develop partnership with China and India which import 20% and 15% of CPO to make more sustainable palm oil.
On the other hand, RSPO commits to have 100% Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) in Europe in 2020. (T3)
