MUARA TAWEH – Palm oil farmers in District of North Barito, Central Kalimantan Province in last two months are hit by the fruit price. The fruit of PT Antang Ganda Utama, People’s Main Plantation Butong, in February, 2015 decreases from Rp 1.534/kg to be Rp 1.463/kg.
Quoting from Antara Kalteng, Monday (2/2), a palm oil farmer in Muara Taweh said, this is the second time of the decreasing palm oil price after December 2014 which it once increased.
Palm oil plantation of PT Antang Ganda Utama (AGU) which the independent farmers cultivate in settlement unit (SU) 1, SU2, SU3, SU4 are about 4.254 hectares.
There are about 1.800 families cultivating the area and the main plantation is about 16.297 hectares and the fruit production is about 15.000 tons/month.
Head of Plantation Production; Plantation and Forestry Agency, North Barito, Bahruddinsyah did not deny, the price of palm oil fruit in the early of January 2015 was Rp 1.463 from Rp 1.534/kg which was still in January 2015. (T3)
