ISTANBUL – Secretary of Agriculture, Suswono said, Indonesia still needs investment in palm oil though the industries always face negative accusations which are not proper as the facts.
Suswono said, there are about 10 millions hectares within the production volume in 2013 reached 28,5 millions tons. The production volume could be increased to be 40 millions ton. “That is why we still need investment,” Suswono said.
Referring to the data of Ministry of Agriculture, 19,7 millions of tons are exported to many countries while 9 millions ton are for domestic.
Having the production, Indonesia becomes the biggest supplier in the world for Indonesia supplies 49% of the world palm oil needs – beyond Malaysia.(T2)
