JAKARTA – Head of Plantation Agency, Riau Province, Zuhler said, Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certificate is aimed to produce crude palm oil (CPO) and could be in trade in the global markets. The global markets need and buy the CPO from greeny industry which is known from the ISPO.

“The programme is the evidence that the government both in central and region commit to produce farmers’ CPO according to the global standards,” Zuhler mentioned in his release, Sunday (1/2) which was quoted from ROL.

ISPO itself is the mandatory only for palm oil companies. But now it is also applied to the independent farmers and Riau becomes the pilot project for the farmers.

Zuhler explained, one condition which the independent farmers or group should fulfill to get ISPO is that they should be the patronage of palm oil companies having ISPO certificates. (T3)
