PEKANBARU – The needs of electricity in Riau Province keep increasing in every single year. This forces, the provincial government advantage palm oil biomass. The needs in Riau are about 592 Megawatt (MW) while the available electricity is just 315 MW. It means, there is lack of electricity about 277 MW.
Governor in duty of Riau Province, Arsyadjuliandi Rachman explained, the government will advantage biomass from liquid palm oil waste. “We advantage it to support and gain the electricity in Riau. But we are still waiting for the realization of the additional power about 35 thousands MW from the Central Government,” he explained, Sunday (25/1)
He continued, as quoted from Spirit Riau, the programme – developing biomass to be source of energy – had been told by Presiden Joko Widodo when he visited Riau in 2014. (T3)
