SAMARINDA – In 2014, Plantation Agency, East Kalimantan Province, through the Regional Technical Unit of Plantation Seeds Supervisor or Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah (UPTD) Pengawasan Benih Perkebunan (PBP) had certified 2.276.291 palm oil seeds.
“This is as same as what the needs of palm oil seeds. In 2014, we had officially published Palm Oil Distribution Agreement Document for 2,276.291 millions of seed from the official seed producers which Ministry of Agriculture had pointed.
Etnawati described, the certification process is to quarantee the people’s plantation on the physical, phycological and genetical qualities of the seeds. The seeds are the main factors to have successful plantation business.
“The seeds certification is to prevent the distribution of fake seeds which are widely spread around the society,” she mentioned.
