MEDAN – Conservation International (CI) supports the mandatory of Indonesian government, in this case is Agriculture Ministry which is required all of palm oil companies which are operated in Indonesia to own Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certification in 2015.
According to Livelihood Development Manager Conservation International, Ade B Kurniawan, as cited by Medan Bisnis, the determination of ISPO certification mandatory is very good in order to make a good image of crude palm oil (CPO) producers.
Thus, have a high concentration to the environment by managing sustainable resources for palm oil plantations, cause the market is handle the control.
“The mandatory of ISPO certification is one of demand from the market. If the market has asking for it, so the stakeholders will fulfill it voluntarily,” he said. (T3)
