SAMARINDA – Plantations revitalization planning program which aims to re-vitalizing palm oil plantations from bad management, so that result into the increasing production, which proclaimed by East Borneo Agriculture Agency gets a support from Commission II local Parliament.
However, the revitalization is more important to considering the sustainable palm oil program.
Secretary of Commission II of East Borneo Regional Parliament, Muspandi stated, the revitalization is really good, but it must take a part of plasma-scheme palm oil farmers. “We are able to do plantations expansion. It is okay for one or two million hectares. But don’t leave our partners, especially our plantation farmers who are need to replanting their commodities.”
He refers into palm oil farmers in Paser Regency, who are side by side with the company.
“Plantation expansion is welcomed. But we have to still considering, due to it in replanting position. If we leave them, it can become social escalation among the society due to there were no any dependence for them (farmers, red) besides palm oil.”
So that, this, he said have to take in action seriously both of local government and East Borneo government. “Even, it is needed we will propose into centre government. Cause the farmers need to do replanting today,” he said, as published in official website of East Borneo Province Parliament, on Friday (19/12/2014). (T3)
